Abstract Conventional electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) is widely used for monitoring the fluids flow in a pipeline. As emergence of microfluidics, system has been miniaturized and integrated into microfludic platform imaging purposes. The on-chip ECT designed to monitor permittivity distribution micro-platform by integrating planar electrodes with sensing region. However, limited research reported on electrode design ECT, especially three-dimensional imaging. Thus, this study investigated an that capable image reconstruction three-dimensions. Four different configurations numbers arrangements are simulation determine appropriate configuration dimension optimized based sensitivity using variation parameter (SVP). results shows dual planes enable central each plane crucial restoring floating object.
